The Science Laboratory at St. Thomas Public School, provides an atmosphere of experiencing and learning science. It’s a modern science lab which accommodates more than 40 students. The Science Lab also provides an open environment for students to experiment and do research work. Under the professional guidance and assistance given by our science teachers, students are also encouraged to exhibit their innovative powers by developing samples and models. The equipments for Physics allow students to perform experiments and study various principles and laws. The facilities and wide range of chemicals and apparatus allow the students a hands-on experience in learning chemistry and biology.
The school owns 5 buses which covers many areas of Kalmeshwar and nearby villages for pick and drop of students. Safety of students being ferried in the vehicles is our prime concern. The vehicles are equipped with fire extinguishers, first aid box an attendant who is advised to be vigilant always. Speed governor is installed in all vehicles as per the specification of Govt. of Maharashtra.
The school has ample space for playground with sports facility like football, cricket, athletics, Karate, Skating, badminton etc.
The school has expert coaches and has a rigorous sports curriculum with focus on fitness and sports education.
The school has a well-equipped audio visual room for the use of students and staff to enhance the teaching learning with a CD player, VCD player, a computer.
The school has a park for the kindergarten. Students love the school lawns carpeted by the lush green grass with Multi-Play equipments. The time spent in this park expands the mind and imagination of the students.
Music is given equal importance as part of the school curriculum. All basic musical equipments are made available to the students. Instruments like the Harmonium, Tabla, Keyboard, Congo and others are accessible for the students. The music department is equipped with teaching students both vocal and instrumental Indian classical music.
Art helps children to express their feelings and thoughts in a non-literal way. In our school, we teach children how they can express, communicate, explore and imagine with the help of colors and figures. It strengthens students’ problem solving, critical thinking
skills, adding to overall academic achievement. The school has Art and Craft room where students’ study in art focuses on both the meaning and form. By actively creating works of their own, they enhance the skills of imagining, reflecting, seeing and feeling in art. By working with various media, it expands their ability to invent and experiment. Our art room is well-equipped with paints, paint brushes in all shapes and sizes, sandpaper, clay, spreaders, sponges, craft papers and all the other required items for crafts.
The school infirmary is well equipped with essential medicines. A full time registered nurse is present throughout the school hours to look after all the medical needs.

They need to overcome all these barriers with the help of an enabling school environment.
Our school has adopted some measures right from primary level to identify and support the children with special needs. The sooner children are identified, the easier it is to help them monitor their disability and improve their performance.

Sports play an important role in maintaining a healthy mind, body and soul. Sports education not only teaches the students to maintain the physical stamina, but also the habit of obedience, discipline, the determination to win. Sports is an integral part of our school’s curriculum. The school provides separate sports room for a number of indoor activities like chess, carom, table-tennis, yoga, aerobics, hula-hoops, etc.
The school has established a well equipped Mathematics Laboratory. It is a place where learning becomes fun and where anybody can experiment and explore patterns and ideas. It is a place where one can find a collection of games, puzzles, and other teaching and learning material. The laboratory approach of teaching Mathematics provides students with the opportunity to understand and discover the beauty, importance and relevance of Mathematics as a discipline. The Math Lab comprises of a variety of mathematical teaching aids in the form of models, games, charts, CDs, books etc. useful for effective learning.
Our lives are so influenced by technology today that it is important that the children are scientifically and technologically literate. The school has a computer lab with 20 computers.
The hi-tech computer lab make the students tech-savvy and keeps them abreast with the latest techniques & that teaches not just computer as a subject, but also, the integration of computer skills for learning of other subjects in the curriculum. Students are given training on advanced software like MS-Office, Flash etc.
Junior students also take hands-on experience on computers by working on wallpapers, screen savers, paint, Logo, Notepad, Calculator etc. Apart from these, computers are also used as a knowledge imparting tool to teach various subjects to students using multimedia CDs. The Lab is equipped with hi-speed broad-band connection for guided access to the internet. Students are encouraged to research and view news items.
Meditation Room: an oasis of calm that is available during the school day. This room serves as a “cool down” room for students who are upset, or otherwise being disruptive in class. Teachers and administrators can refer students to this room, and students can also
refer themselves with permission.
In the presence of an instructor, students engage in five minutes of targeted discussion with active listening, and 15 minutes of mindfulness practice, selected based on the needs of the student. Most often students are led through a series of breathing exercises, but some scenarios may call for yoga. The focus is on helping the student to de-escalate their emotions.
Multipurpose room caters to the wide range of activities that are undertaken for the students. The multipurpose room is equipped with PA system to facilitate co-curricular activities for the students. It is used for various activities such as workshops, seminars, exhibitions, quiz competitions, cultural activities such as extempore competition, debates, dramatics, musicals etc. The multipurpose room is also a hub for undertaking yoga and karate classes. We make sure that the co-curricular activities are conducted with the right approach to serve the purpose of development of student’s interpersonal skills in the multipurpose room.
